PowerWind 56 supplies two schools in Indiana with energy

From now on, 70 % of the energy required by the two biggest schools in Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation (TVSC) in Akron (Indiana/USA) will be generated by a PowerWind 56 turbine. The turnkey turbine was delivered by US engineering and construction company Performances Services, Inc. The company develops sustainable energy concepts for schools, universities, health-care facilities and local governments, and has already implemented various wind energy projects. Thanks to the turbine technology used TVSC is the largest educational institute in Indiana to benefit from the net metering policy.
Expectations were met quickly: Already in the first week the PowerWind 56 has produced more than 50 MWh of electricity. Beyond that, the wind turbine is serving as an important show-and-tell instrument for renewable energy and environmental responsibility.
